Hey chickens!

Thanks for joining! So let's see, previously in my life I'd started my new job at the Nail Salon (details are in my previous post), and I was working as a scare actor and makeup artist at the Zombie Zoo in Southport's Pleasureland Amusement Park. The scare attractions have all finished now that we've passed Halloween, so I can get back to focusing on nail art! YES!! The Rainbow is back!... Just need an idea so I can get to work... I started doing a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child design, with the book cover, Slytherin colours and the main characters featured. However I wasn't 1000% made up with it, so I wiped them off. Maybe I'll redo it, or maybe I'll move on to something else. Also, I LOVE SCORPIUS MALFOY! He is just the best character :') I relate to him on a spiritual level!

So, the salon! Yes! I the lady who came in for the Deluxe manicure treatment last week was in again this week, about which I was thrilled! I love seeing her - she's very funny and great to talk to. I was much more relaxed this week about her treatment, which I think is all down to how she made me feel calm last week when I hadn't done it in a while and I was nervous as all heck. Last time we finished the treatment with a clear coat and ring fingers adorned with rose gold sparkles! This time we went with a classic french polish. She even brought in her own Sally Hansen Sheer Opal (I think was it's name?) nail polish for me to use. I have to say, I'll definitely be out looking for that paint as it was beautiful! For the white tips, I've never been able to do the stroke technique with the brush from the polish bottle, and I refused to send this gem of a woman away with anything less than perfection... so out came Bertha! (For details on Bertha - see my Favourite of the Week) Basically she is my ultra fine detail brush who has changed my life! I sat there and meticulously painted the most precise white tips with my face about 2 inches from her hands. She found it rather amusing and asked "Am I right in thinking you're a bit of a perfectionist?", to which I open smiled and said "Yep! Always have been!" She then went on to tell me how it's a great trait to have, that I obviously take pride in my workmanship and that I want my customers to have the best experience... God, I love her so much! (Side note: did you know that there is a religion - can't remember which one but we learned about it in R.E in year 8 - which says to create something truly perfect is to try to be on par with their deity, and so it is customary to deliberately drop one stitch in an otherwise masterpiece tapestry, and to include one bad stroke in a gorgeous painting! I just always thought that was interesting, and it stuck with me...) The white tips ended up taking 15 minutes, but both myself and the lady were made up with the final result so that's all that matters :) Her nails are growing nicely, and in another 2 weeks I'll be uploading a timelapse photo of her progress <3

I have also begun designing some Christmas nails (early, I know, but I figured it's a good way to get clients booked in if they see what they could have for the festive period, and as we all know, appointments for beauty treatments book up FAST around this time!) Yesterday a mother and daughter came into the salon to have their hair done. The mother had gel nails on with a french tip, but sadly one of them had cracked. It was still there, but with a split. She asked if I could maybe fix this for her. Of course, I said yes. I filled in the white, and went over with my rose quartz. This shielded the split from further damage, but there would still be discolouring where the split was. She had accepted that unfortunately that would be the case, but I didn't want to leave her with that. So I offered to do some subtle but beautiful nail art just on that one finger to mask the split. She agreed, and I painted a silver firework on the corner of her nail, with white in the centre to brighten it and a few teeny tiny precisely placed glitter pieces (I don't know what an individual glitter is called!)... she loved it! In fact she loved it so much that she has booked in for appointments all the way through to Christmas! Not only that, she and her daughter saw my Christmas designs and they want me to do their festive nails! The mother loved the Christmas tree and the snowflake, the daughter was definitely in love with the Christmas minion :') They were lovely too, it'll be great to see their faces when they return <3

I love this job so far! <3 As always, thankyou so much for your support and for reading my thoughts on a webpage!

Love you guys,

Rainbow Jojo x (is my sign off consistent? I don't think it is... I should work on that for next week)
