Hey chickens!
Thanks for joining. This week has been very eventful... at least for me as I usually have no kind of social life :') I hung out with my best guy friend for a day in Liverpool, spent quality time with my awesome grandparents, and bought myself some presents to calm my geek cravings (I get those a lot!) Let's see, the title explains my week pretty much in a nutshell, so let's do this in paragraphs, shall we?
Pokemon! (Gotta catch 'em al-it's you and meee...)
Don't lie - you all sing that song trying to do both the main melody and the backing vocals by yourself. It's just one of those songs, like Bring Me To Life by Evanesence - you can't not do it. *sings* WAKE ME UP-Wake me up insi-WAKE ME UP-wake me up ins-SAAVE MEE!!
So this week I pre-ordered Pokemon Moon after having spent an entire day on YouTube watching pokemon Sun and Moon trailers. I was all excited for the 18th to roll around so I could play the game which, to be honest, I initially didn't get that great a vibe from, but it's warming to me more and more as the release date grows near. I even painted my nails with each of the starters and hibiscus flowers in the background to pay tribute to the new region! Sadly, I am a UK Citizen, and our release date is not the 18th like in the trailers... it's the 23rd! No fair! Now I have to wait 5 more days :'( Let me just explain my current stance on Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Now, initally the games were predicted to be named Lunar and Solar - far better names in my opinion. I don't know, I just think they sound more mystic. But I can get over the names. What I think is cool is where the game is set. Alola is the newest region in the Pokemon universe which is based of Hawaii. As a mad Lilo and Stitch lover - this makes me very happy. The game graphics look stellar from trailer footage, the scenery is probably going to be amazing with a hopefully beautiful storyline incorporating Hawiian history/customes ie. calling eachother 'cousin', etc. There are also going to be mini-games in this new generation. I really hope one of the mini games will be a surfing one. When I was young (and even now, let's be honest), playing Spyro: Year of the Dragon was one of my top favourite things to do (behind playing Pokemon, of course!), and the best parts of the game were chasing Moneybagz around and butting his butt with your horns to get your gems back, and the skateboarding mini missions. Tangent over, back to Alola... we also get Alola forms! From what I've gathered, there will be an Alola form for all the original pokemon from Gen 1. I hope this is true, and I hope this includes Mew. Although what is Alola Persian's design even about? Seriously? Google that and you'll see what I take issue with. Ice Vulpix and Exeggutor (is that how you spell it?) look bada$$ though! Now my drawbacks...
I mentioned before about the names of the games. Again, I can live with that, but the names are a recurring issue with me, particularly the starters. Popplio is not a problem, but Rowlett and Litten... the owlet and the kitten... Please don't bring back punny pokemon! Gen 3 was my least favourite due to the ridiculous new pokemon. Honestly when the original Sapphire and Ruby came out, I remember only getting to the bridge with Plusle and Minun and thinking these pokemon are so uninspired and silly, it's almost like Nintendo has run out of ideas and is just throwing out half-a$$ed attempts in order to make more money. At that point I shut off the game, and left that generation alone... I will admit Aplha Sapphire was cool though! Anyway, it feels straight away with these starters Rowlett and Litten that Pokemon are trying the same thing as in Gen 3. I really hope not. My other issue is (well, not really an issue, more so just a wish that doesn't look hopeful at this point)... no new Eeveelutions this generation? I hope there will be, I LOVE seeing new Eeveelutions! I am excited to see their Alola forms, I saw one PokeFan had combined Eevee with Shaymin. Honestly, I think the result would be a perfect Alola form for Eevee! Google that too - it's so cute!
Bunnies!
Everybody loves bunnies. Even people who are allergic to bunnies love bunnies. My best friend's last name is Bunn, and she has bunnies! For a long time I've wanted to paint bunnies on my nails, but I didn't want to do the cartoon bunnies I've seen done many times. I wanted to create a more realistic representation, and this week I felt the mojo flowing and knew the time had come. 5 hours later, the title picture had been created! I'm really very proud of it, and I don't often praise my own work. The black bunny was inspired by my friend's bunny... called Blackie. Quite an apt name, really. Blackie passed away I think either one or two years ago, so I felt a tribute would be nice :) I used to have bunnies too, I had a beautiful cuddly dwarf dutch rabbit called Dylan, and a menace called Willow. When I finally get my own place I want to go back to being a pet owner. I'll get a bunny (lop eared is the dream), a syrian hamster, and a Husky puppy. Maybe I'll do a dog design similar to the bunny one some day...
DEADPOOL *Sings deadpool rap*
Words can not describe how much I love Deadpool! Anti-hero merc with a mouth who refuses to join the Boy Band lead by (depending on the timeline - so confusing!) either McCavoy or Stewart. I usually don't like things with harsh language, but my friend and I were in tears laughing from beginning to end of the movie. Instantly I know I sound like one of those people who only liked it since the movie... that's true. But that's because the movie was simply the first time I'd heard of it. But I wanted to know more. While in Liverpool my frined and I went to Forbidden Planet. I used to go there all the time for my manga books, and felt it was time to return. We were in there for an hour, contemplating whether or not to spend our life savings on everything in the shop! I saw a Hogwarts journal I wanted, but they didn't have Hufflepuff so I left that.I saw a Doctor Who book called Timelord Fairytales, which has been added to my cChristmas list. There was even a pokemon positive quotes book which I found hilarious! Meowth even had a quote featued "Don't think of it as failing - think of it as not succeeding" :'D But then I saw it. The comic book section. Instantly I went looking for our main man in red spandex. I ended up walking away with issues 20 and 21. I'll be on the lookout for all the previous ones on eBay. I know there are lots of variations on Deadpool comics (Deadpool Black being one of them I remember), but I went with straight Deadpool. Issue 20 has a storyline where Deadpool finds a girl about to jump off the roof of his building, and wants to stop her... but in his own hilarious way. I won't give anything away, but I recommend reading it as it's handled and written so brilliantly, and you see he genuinely does care and wants to do what's best for the person he's trying to help... and Issue 21 has a Shakespearean Deadpool which is incredible - it's even written with the Iambic Pentameter! And of course, fourth-wall breaks ;)
Okay, this was a long post, so if you made it to the end, you're a real trooper! Leave in the comments which is your favourite Pokemon Starter in Pokemon Sun and Moon, which version you're planning to get, and your prediction for what the third game will be called (I predict either Pokemon Twilight or Pokemon Eclipse)
Thankyou for all your support,
